Quinoa brown rice pulao- Healthy yet tasty

We all want to eat Quinoa but don’t know many recipes or some people don’t know how to eat Quinoa delicious way. That’s why today I will share this super healthy Quinoa Brown rice pulao recipe. This pulao includes Brown rice, lots of vegetables and of course Quinoa. This is Healthy, colorful, rich and tasty dish. This is a very good choice for those who wants to avoid white rice and yet not miss on the taste.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1.5 cups of quinoa brown rice, soaked for 2 hours
  • ½ cup diced carrots
  • ½ cup chopped green beans
  • ½ cup diced potatoes
  • 2 tbspn. chopped coriander and mint leaves
  • ¼ cup frozen green peas
  • 2 tbspn. diced orange pepper
  • ¼ cup diced green pepper
  • ½ tbspn. chilli powder
  • 1 tbspn.  kitchen king masala (I have used MDH)
  • ¼ tspn. garam masala
  • ½ tbspn. of ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tspn. cumin seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cloves
  • ¼ inch cinnamon
  • 4 cups of water
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil as required

METHOD:

  • Take a thick bottomed vessel or the pressure cooker, pour in some oil, once the oil is heated add the cumin seeds and allow it to splutter. Add the bay leaf, cloves and cinnamon and fry a bit.
  • Now add all the ginger garlic paste and chopped veggies, carrots, green beans, potatoes, green peas, orange and green peppers and fry well. Adding salt to the veggies will make them cook faster.
  • Add the chopped mint and coriander leaves and all the spices, chilli powder, garam masala, kitchen king masala and give it a good mix.
  • Now add 4 cups of water and allow it to boil. Taste the water and add the required spices as per your taste buds. Once the water is boiled add the quinoa brown rice and mix well.
  • Cover the lid and let it cook on medium flame for 4 whistles. Let the pressure cool down on its own. This makes the rice cook evenly with all the spices and gives out a nice flavor.
  • Serve hot with onion tomato raita or plain curd. Enjoy a guilt free meal 😊
