Go Go Goaaaaa..

FILE0384FILE0276

It was a late night conversation with my hubby, I badly wanted a break from my routine and it was almost an year that we had gone out on a vacation.

He being a busy freak on the weekdays, was hard to even get that little time to talk leisurely. For once he said Goa, I was excited from that very moment.

We planned a month ahead, exploring places, stay, food, looking for experiences from the recent visitors. He let me plan, of my choice undoubtedly. With the help of few mommy forums, I could narrow down on the stay, listed few places to look around, wasn’t very keen on covering the maximum places from the beginning.

That immediate weekend,we decided on travelling by flight. Yes, it was our first flight with our lil cupcake. All while, She had been waving good byes to planes from the terrace. We chose to travel during the weekdays, as the tickets were a little cheaper than that of the weekends. I was surprised, for once my hubby was okay holidaying on weekdays cos of the fares..ha ha.. how I wish these airlines could give us a better fare for tge next consecutive travel too..Am I being too selfish??

It was 3AM on a Monday morning, we were up all packed, ready to leave to the airport. My hubby was all excited with the holiday spirits. By then, I had briefed my lil gal abt flight n how she had to co-operate. And..I was like..yaay finally.

The check-in procedure was at the easiest. The flight took off as per the schedule, My little gal was a sweetheart n Dint want me to hold her ears at the takeoff. Easy weather, landed at the time much ahead of the schedule. Dint have to wait much long for our baggage n left to the botique hotel we were to stay in by a local pre- paid taxi.

On our way, Siri n my hubby dozed off. I got to see the Dabolim area with little narrow roads, old Goan style houses, the variations in soil colour. I could also notice, every house had a garden in their front yard. There were a lot of sign boards with stay villas, restaurants and night bars. The driver was a old man, he Dint know English n I tried conversing with my manageable Hindi. He drove leisurely and reached the hotel, Thanks to Google maps..we Dint have to go around searching.

As we entered the hotel, my little gal got up looking around n smiling. The security happily carried our luggage. At the reception, Priyesha, she was the one whom we had spoken to and had answered all my questions patiently. 308, was allotted to us for the next four days n I was loving that feeling of holidaying.

It was 8:30AM, we were pleased with our rooms decor and the balcony. It was a junior suite room with a neat bed, electronic safe, LED TV, cleaner bathroom with a shower cubicle, the extended room had a cosy sofa n a glass window. The main room had the entrance to the balcony. It had two chairs and a table… Perfect for a late night drink, I already had an idea.

We freshed up quickly n went to the 24 hour restaurant the hotel had. The view was decent n was next to the reception. It was a buffet with wide spread fresh fruites, canned juices, salads, idly’s, poha, kitchdi, potato dry, creamy corn, porridge, methi parantas, cereals, brown bread most of them I could remember..not bad at all…aah.

We had our breakfast and couldn’t resist getting into the pool. Siri was excited, she was happily shouting n splashing. I had been telling her abt the swimming pool from the day one of our plan n it was all worth it.

She resisted in getting back from water. There were benches along the pool side facing the green serene. The lush green around a small mountain formed an amazing view to relax. We spent time on the benches lazing around taking pictures, enjoying the sun.

We were tired by then and wanted a nap. It was much needed after a early beginning. We rented a two wheeler for the next three days and my husband was successful in getting a better deal. We left to the most popular n commercial beach Calangute. As we entered the road towards the beach entrance, I was almost dishearted seeing the crowd or rather I expected a quieter beach. There were shops all through selling beach wear, finger food, hats, slippers, sun glasses were to name a few. Here and there, saw few beach side coffee, tea, roasted nuts n corn, bhel. It looked, a lot had come thr to see the foreigners tanning with bikins more than the beach itself. The beach occupied a lot of shacks.

Siri was all excited seeing the beach and enjoyed playing with the sand around. I could only think of a quieter beach. My hubby could read my mind and promised to take me to a calmer beach.

Next day we drove to the Morgim beach, about 25 kms from our hotel. The drive was easier with neat roads overlooking the countryside of Para and Mapusa. The road behind a church we took was almost closer to the filmy cutouts. I must say morgim was one of the best n cleaner beaches I had ever seen. Less crowd, non commercial and the waves for perfect for that sunny day. All of us had great fun with the waves hitting us tight. After a much play, we got to relax on the beach shack with a chilled drink.

That evening we lazed around in the condolim area with cafe n shopping. The night life was great in the condolim than that of calangute. Siri had almost dozed off by then and we had to leave to the hotel.

It was abt 11PM Tht night, my hubby was busy checking his emails n he went out to answer a call. I quickly arranged for our late night drink.. had this in my mind from long. In the rooms balcony, I arranged a cake with few candles n candies and of course our drink. He came back after the call and was surprised to see this setup. We leisurely finished our drinks and hit the bed.

The next day, we visited Fort Agouda, siquerium beach, wednesday flea market and Anjuna beach.
Fort Agouda, great for pictures …
Siquerium beach had to offer water sports, tried jet skiing and para sailing, worth every penny spent.
Anjuna flea market had everything under the sun and had rocket prices too. Managed getting a deal on some t shirts, pouches n junk jewellery. It was like a carnival setup Thr.
Anjuna beach had sharp waves and we had great clicks at the sunset. Snack time was on a shack and Siri Dint want to get out of water. It was Infact hard for us to convince her. We bid goodbye to the beach as we had to leave the next day.

The next morning, was busy packing, scheduling a taxi, check out from our hotel. As we reached the Dabolim airport, mixed feelings, the much awaited holiday was over.

Yes, Goa was truly an experience to cherish and will always stay close to our hearts.
The sand, sun, waves, shacks will be missed..

Not over yet, we were already planning our next vacation…u bet..!!IMG-20141209-WA0102
